Education and Presentations

Through our continuing education workshops, Kidpower Therapies aims to offer training that is relevant for new graduates as well as experienced clinicians. Presentations are tailored to the needs of the group and can include lecture, case study, and/or equipment-demonstration style workshops. Training comes in half-day, full-day, two-day, and module formats. We provide clinical training to OT programs from universities to hospital groups worldwide. Please email lise.faulise@gmail.com to request more information.

Individual Consultations

Sometimes a consultative model is necessary to help other settings understand your child’s needs more comprehensively. Kidpower Therapies can provide onsite consultation at your school, community setting, or home. Additionally, phone or Skype consultations, reviews of videotape, and reviews of educational, treatment, program, or placement plans can be provided. The scope of consultation – either via technology or in-person, may include:

  • IEP review or participation

  • Behavior challenges

  • Sensory integration

  • Sensory Diets

  • Self-regulation and coping skills

  • Fine and gross motor skills including handwriting

  • Social functioning

  • Play and early skill development

  • Development of executive functioning skills including planning, organizing, inhibitory control, and working memory skills

  • Eating, feeding, toileting, or other activities of daily living difficulties

  • Site visits to the home, school, and community programs.

Professional Consultations

We provide consultation to occupational therapists, speech-language therapists, and other professional and academic groups working with challenging clients. A comprehensive record review is followed by clinical consultation to provide insight into potential sensory processing, challenges, and offer recommendations for intervention and accommodations.

Home Consultation

Creating a Sensory Seeking and Safe Play Space

In-home programming is typically addressed in addition to direct therapy services to provide sensory-enriched activities for self-regulation, body awareness, and participation in occupation-based activities. Therapists experienced in sensory integration are qualified to make equipment recommendations and create therapeutic spaces at home. The therapist will determine the best location for the play space, discuss options for equipment in collaboration with a contractor, establish priorities, and discuss options.
